Recognizing the signs and symptoms of traumatic stress is first in a series of important steps to help children and teens cope with trauma. The next step is to help the child or teen find the appropriate therapy. Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) provides an evidence based therapy for children and teens experiencing traumatic stress reactions.
On January 9th, 2013, the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies will host a webinar on TF-CBT presented by Judith Cohen, PhD. In addition to an overview of TF-CBT, this webinar will focus on the three TF-CBT treatment principles as well the primary TF-CBT treatment components. Short examples of TF-CBT implementation and free resources for future learning will also be presented.
