We here at the Center for Pediatric Traumatic Stress (CPTS), who run the HealthCareToolbox.org site and this blog, want to take this week’s blog post to send grateful thanks to all of our readers and to update you on our future endeavors.
Since 2011, the team at CPTS produced weekly blog posts covering topics varying from the psychosocial impact of injury, illness, and medical care on children and families and the ways healthcare professionals can use trauma informed care to reduce traumatic impact of medical care to how a child’s environment outside the hospital affects their ability to cope with injury / illness, and how healthcare professionals can take care of themselves.
In additional to our blog posts, we worked to shape this site into a “one-stop-shop” for healthcare professionals to learn about the psychosocial impact of injury / illness on a child and family, medical traumatic stress, and ways to utilize trauma informed care through the development of practical guides, screeners, assessments, and coping tools, and online professional training courses. We also reached out to families to help them share their stories, and created content to guide parents and children through the emotional journey of illness, injury, and medical treatment experiences.
To all of our readers, THANK YOU for following and supporting us all these years! Thank you for reading, commenting, and sharing! Because of you, we have been able create and refine our tools and resources for professionals and families. We deeply appreciate the community of health care professionals and parents who have read this blog, interacted with us on Facebook, Twitter, or Pinterest, and helped make pediatric health care more trauma-informed in all that you do every day.
